EL CHAVEZ RAVINE
"EL CHAVEZ RAVINE" is a collaborative project with Vincent Valdez and musician Ry Cooder. This project chronicles the story of an early Los Angeles neighborhood that was uprooted by the city of LA through emminent domain and was demolished to make way for Dodger Stadium in 1959. The wraparound oil painting is on a 1953 Chevrolet Good Humor Ice Cream Truck, built by the infamous Dukes SoCal Car Club in LA. This project took two years to complete and is a visual extension to Ry Cooder's Grammy nominated album "Chavez Ravine".
